Things got physical on last night’s “Mindy Project,” right from the start. As Mindy waxed poetic about how romantic Danny is, she quickly changed her tune when he “slipped” into uncharted territory while having sex.

Of course, nothing is private in Mindy and Danny’s relationship, and she rushes off to her “most perverted friend,” Peter, to solicit some sage sexual advice. Peter convinces Mindy that no man “slips” and loses control of his little man during sex, and when Mindy admits she’s actually a prude, Peter gives her a lesson in Sex 101, complete with a classroom skeleton for visual aid. Disgusted with all the new positions he tries to teach her, Mindy decides she’ll just go with what Danny wants, despite her reluctance.

But, before doing the deed, Mindy seeks a prescription for a sedative, seeing as she’s about to do something she “can’t be awake for, but can’t legally be asleep for.” With his new Nurse Practioner title, Morgan obliges, and Mindy happily consumes – but with scotch. Cue the LOL-worthy tripped-out drug sequence, which lands Mindy in the hospital. The prognosis? She “roofied” herself. After all is said and done, Danny admits that he just wanted to try something new, and the playing field is leveled as they’ve both never gone that far in bed. The night ends with the two drinking soda and watching Colbert in Mindy’s hospital bed, a much more fitting evening for the cute couple.

In the secondary plot, the office is divided between Team Peter and Team Jeremy in the Great Lauren Debate of 2014. Morgan, always the idea man, “parent traps” the two feuding dudes at a dinner so they can hash things out while he mediates. The dinner concludes with Peter tossing a glass of water at Jeremy’s face, and Jeremy retaliating by accidentally setting Peter’s face on fire. I reiterate: is this woman really worth all of this trouble?! In the end, through Mindy’s guidance, the Gentleman and the Bro are able to come to an agreement: no fighting at work, but plenty of fighting outside of work. Maybe this will help them move on to more interesting storylines? Only time will tell.

This marks yet another filler episode in The Mindy Project’s third season.  I’m still holding out for some solid character development, though the wait so far has been pretty fun.
